Vinicius Jr Issues Regret to Real Madrid Devotees
The forward has registered 5 strikes in 10 Spanish league appearances so far this term.
The Madrid giants forward Vinicius Jr has said sorry to fans for his conduct when substituted in Sunday's heated Clasico clash victory.
The Brazilian was taken off in the second half and showed his frustration by heading directly to the dressing room.
Vinicius subsequently came back to the bench and, following his team's narrow triumph, sought to engage Barça's opposing player during contentious final whistle incidents.
"This day I want to express regret to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the derby," the player shared on social media.
"Just as I have said in person during today's practice, I also want to express regret anew to my colleagues, the team, and the leadership.
"Sometimes passion takes over me because I always want to succeed and support my side. My winning mentality originates in the love I hold for this club and each thing it represents."
He signed for Madrid from Flamengo in the year 2018 for a significant fee and has accumulated 111 goals in 335 appearances.
But his future in the Spanish capital is far from certain with speculation in recent months stating that Real would think about permitting the 25-year-old move on if they got a good proposal.
When he was substituted on the match day, broadcast footage from coverage provider Dazn picked him up saying: "Always me! I'm leaving the team! It's wiser if I leave, I'm leaving."
In his latest message on social media, Vinicius said: "I promise to keep fighting constantly for the benefit of Los Blancos, as I have acted since the very beginning."
